Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 3, 2026

Patentlyze (“we”, “us”, “our”) publishes editorial commentary on patents filed at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

What we collect

Newsletter signups. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the email address you provide. We also store basic metadata about your subscription (date subscribed, source page, language preference if you supply one).

Analytics. We use server logs and a privacy-respecting analytics service to understand how visitors find and use our site. This includes anonymized data points like the page you viewed, your approximate geographic region, the device type, and the referring URL. We do not use cross-site tracking pixels.

Cookies. We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies (session, security, performance) and analytics cookies. We do not use advertising cookies. Our content delivery network, Cloudflare, may set a session cookie for performance and DDoS protection.

What we do not collect

  • Names, addresses, phone numbers, or other personally identifying information unless you voluntarily provide them
  • Payment information (we do not sell anything directly)
  • Information from children under 13 (this site is not directed to children)

How we use information

  • To send the newsletter you subscribed to
  • To understand which articles are useful so we can write more like them
  • To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or technical problems

We do not sell your data, rent it, or share it with advertisers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in the footer of every email.

Data retention

We retain newsletter subscription data for as long as you remain subscribed, and for a short reasonable period after you unsubscribe to prevent accidental re-signups. We retain analytics data for up to 14 months in aggregate form.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a new “Last updated” date.
