New Google Patents
Google is one of the most active AI patent filers anywhere, covering search, Android, Pixel hardware, DeepMind research, and data center infrastructure.
Through the USPTO’s October 1, 2026 release, Patentlyze has covered 830 notable Google patent applications, including 199 published in the last 30 days.
This week's published patents
Google's 45 filings this week sort into four clusters:
- Search and AI assistants. Filings here include a browser that lets you search every page you've visited in plain English, a search session that merges related questions automatically, and an AI assistant that fills in task details mid-conversation.
- Perception and vision AI. A camera that reframes around whatever you tap, a system that teaches AI to copy text styles in images, and a method for mapping 3D objects by tracing how light rays miss them represent the vision cluster.
- Waymo autonomy. Waymo filed systems that forecast where nearby drivers and pedestrians will go, grade the vehicle's own driving decisions, and read traffic signs in any weather using two sensors.
- Health and wearables. Verily and Google filed a breath-based cancer-detection method, a contact lens case that tracks missed wear, and a smartwatch that forecasts irregular heartbeat episodes.

Google patent questions, answered
What is Google working on right now?
Google's current patent filings concentrate on Waymo's robotaxi senses and Google's smart glasses display, with newer activity in The GPU rendering race. The breakdown above shows each program’s filing count and latest activity.
How many patents did Google publish this month?
45 Google patent applications have published in October 2026 so far, after 154 in September. Patentlyze has covered 830 Google filings since tracking began in May 2026.
Does a Google patent mean the feature will launch?
No. A published application is not a product announcement. Companies file to protect options, and most patented ideas never ship in the form described. What filings do show is where Google is spending research effort right now.
