New Google Patents
Google is one of the most active AI patent filers anywhere, covering search, Android, Pixel hardware, DeepMind research, and data center infrastructure.
Through the USPTO’s October 1, 2026 release, Patentlyze has covered 829 notable Google patent applications, including 198 published in the last 30 days.
This week's published patents
Google's 31 filings this week split across three areas: AI tools woven into search, cameras, and conversation; a cluster of health and wearable sensing; and autonomous-vehicle and mapping work from Waymo.
- AI in search and assistants. Filings include a two-model system for ranking search results, an assistant that fills in task details mid-conversation, a recommendation system that predicts when your interests will shift, and a way to search the web using what's inside a video.
- Cameras, displays, and health sensing. Device filings cover a camera that reframes around what you tap, AR glasses that show two separate images at once, and a smartwatch that forecasts irregular heartbeat episodes, plus Verily filings for breath-based cancer detection and a contact lens case that tracks missed wears.
- Waymo and mapping. Waymo filings address reading traffic signs in any weather, predicting what a self-driving car will see next, and correcting a passenger's phone GPS at pickup, while a separate Google filing fixes misplaced map locations using user feedback.

Google patent questions, answered
What is Google working on right now?
Google's current patent filings concentrate on Waymo's robotaxi senses and Google's smart glasses display, with newer activity in The GPU rendering race. The breakdown above shows each program’s filing count and latest activity.
How many patents did Google publish this month?
44 Google patent applications have published in October 2026 so far, after 154 in September. Patentlyze has covered 829 Google filings since tracking began in May 2026.
Does a Google patent mean the feature will launch?
No. A published application is not a product announcement. Companies file to protect options, and most patented ideas never ship in the form described. What filings do show is where Google is spending research effort right now.
