New Nvidia Patents

Nvidia's 24 newest filings sort into three clusters:

• Self-driving and cameras. Six filings cover autonomous vehicles and imaging, including a system that flags when car cameras are too slow, one that builds 3D intersection maps from flat footage, and a surround-view display that reshapes around nearby objects.
• Graphics and rendering. A large cluster tackles GPU work, from a neural network that decides when to ray-trace a scene and an AI that renders film-quality surfaces in real time, to multi-chip fixes that stop GPUs talking over each other and keep graphics data on the correct chip.
• AI perception and generation. Remaining filings push AI to understand and create, covering a conversational assistant that remembers user preferences, a system that teaches models to fix their own blind spots, and tools that read object position from a single image or grow small textures into full images.
